The DundeeWealth Charitable Initiatives Committee organizes employee fundraising activities in our workplace as well as in our communities. Since 2006, the Charitable Initiatives Committee has raised more than $250,000 for local, national and global charities chosen by the employees of DundeeWealth.
Since 2006, employees from across DundeeWealth have come together every year to participate in the Ride for Diabetes, an event that supports the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. In just four years generous DundeeWealth employees have raised over $50,000 for this important cause.
Every year, several DundeeWealth employees devote one of their paid volunteer days to work in the warehouse at the Daily Bread Food Bank. This important charity helps to create healthy communities and offers employees an opportunity to work together in a team outside of the workplace.
In response to disasters or crises that develop in Canada or around the world, DundeeWealth has partnered with the Canadian Red Cross in their appeal for funds that provide emergency relief to vulnerable people. Since 2008, DundeeWealth, our employees and advisors have raised more than $260,000 for relief efforts in Canada as well as in Haiti, Chile and Japan.
Since 2008, over 150 DundeeWealth employees have participated in the Sporting Life 10K run in support of Camp Oochigeas, raising more than $70,000. In 2010, DundeeWealth won the Banking Industry Challenge by raising more than $35,000 for Camp Ooch, sending 20 kids to camp for a week.
Lunch Money Day is a critical fundraising campaign that keeps Second Harvest trucks on the road, picking up excess fresh food and delivering it to approximately 250 social service programs in the GTA. Since 2009, DundeeWealth employees have raised more than $12,000 for Second harvest, helping them reach their vision that no one goes hungry in our community.
